- Account data: name, e-mail, password (stored as a secure hash) and your role (student or tutor).
- Profile data: photo, bio, subjects, education, experience, languages, address and approximate location.
- Contact data: phone numbers and extra e-mails you verify with a one-time code.
- Verification documents: files tutors upload for identity and qualification checks.
- Usage data: posts, messages, unlocks, reviews, payments, sign-in history (IP address and browser).
How we use it
- To match students and tutors and show relevant search results, including distance-based search.
- To process coin purchases and keep an accurate wallet history.
- To send notifications, verification codes and important account e-mails.
- To keep the platform safe, verify tutors, prevent fraud and enforce our terms.
What others can see
Public profiles show your name, photo, headline, bio, subjects, experience, education, area and reviews. Your phone numbers and e-mail are only shared with people you connect with through an unlock. Contact details written into public text are hidden automatically. Verification documents are never public: they are stored privately and are only accessible to you and our verification team.
Payments
Payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card details; we keep the amount, currency, coins and payment reference.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in securely and an anonymous visitor cookie to count unique profile and post views. We do not use advertising cookies.
Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. Sign-in history is kept for 6 months and notifications for 6 months. You may ask us to delete your account at any time.
Your rights
You can view and edit your profile at any time, download your information on request and ask us to correct or delete it. Contact us through the contact page to exercise these rights.
Security
Passwords are hashed, sessions use short-lived tokens in secure cookies, documents are stored outside public folders and all access is logged.
